Avondale
Avondale offers a thriving business climate, a great selection of freeway sites, and locations with high visibility for commercial, industrial, manufacturing, high-tech, office or retail businesses. The City has two employment corridors that are able to access a labor pool of more than half a million employees within a 30-minute commute.
The areas include the I-10 Corridor and the 115th Avenue Corridor that serves the new 66-acre Avondale Civic Center. Avondale’s major employers fall mainly within the public and retail sectors. Marketing targets include large office and industrial uses, both emerging sectors of the local economy.

Goodyear
Goodyear is a dynamic business community. Phoenix-Goodyear Airport, an active general aviation facility with an 8,500-foot runway, is a significant economic engine to the growth of the City. The airport is home to Lockheed Martin, Timco Aviation Services and the Airline Training Center of Arizona, Lufthansa Airline’s primary commercial flight training facility. Snyder’s of Hanover and the West Valley Hospital are also strong employers in Goodyear. These companies are representative of the City’s focus on aviation; plastics and advanced composites; food, fiber and natural products and biotechnology.

Litchfield Park
The city of Litchfield Park characterizes itself as a residential/resort community. The Wigwam is the largest and most prominent employer in the City today. With 350 rooms and three restaurants at peak season, The Wigwam employs more than 700 persons. The La Loma Medical and Care Facility, planned for construction in 2003 is expected to be the next largest and only other significant employer in the city. The Wigwam Creek and Tierra Verde shopping centers also provide retail sales employment opportunities for residents of the area.

Tolleson
The Southern Pacific railway corridor has been a magnet attracting major industry into Tolleson for many years. The majority of Tolleson’s largest employers are located adjacent to, or within a half mile of, the railroad right-of-way in the south half of the City. It is estimated that well over 5,000 people are employed by one of the major companies located in the southern half of the City alone. A second significant employment corridor is located between Van Buren and McDowell Roads from 83rd to 99th Avenues. Interstate 10 and the 101 Loop intersect at 97th Avenue just south of McDowell forming Tolleson’s primary commercial corridor. This area is of the utmost importance among the City’s economic development efforts. Tolleson leaders view their northern corridor as the City’s most valuable property with expansive sales tax generation potential.
